“Spiritual” just means that you can’t put it into words, because either you lack them, or you are simply more comfortable with the experiential vocabulary than the physical. That doesn’t mean the sense of spirituality doesn’t exist or isn’t important, it just means that it’s explicable in tediously boring scientific terms. But like many tediously boring scientific explanations, there is a difference between causality and experience (Qualia). So whether you sense perceive, and articulate the world in supernatural (imaginary), experiential (phenomenal) or scientific (causal) terms. It’s not true that what we see is false. Just the opposite. It’s that we prioritize value and predict from the combination of our internal memories intuitions and instincts. So yes, it is a spiritual war. No we can’t run from it. (we were at war with islam for 1500 years). Yes it’s an opportunity. Yes we can tackle and run with it. Yes the only way out is through. But we must unite on a solution because we cannot unite on supernatural, experiential, or scientific means – unless we understand what we share in common is the same whether we imagine, experience, or physically describe our priorities and values. In other words our desire for sovereignty ( what you call freedom ) is shared regardless of whether we grasp the world with imagination, experience, or technical knowledge.

Will civil disobedience work? Hard to know. The enemy specializes in picking us off one at a time using the system. If instead, you mean popularize the illegitimacy of the state. Every single day.

I’m sorry but ‘separate’ parallel society violates your ‘running away’ claim – it’s running away.
There is only one solution. And it’s confrontation. But it has to be a confrontation over a solution that is moral and possible. It has to consist of a set of demands. And it has to be presented by overwhelming numbers.
