My response is due to high expectations of it being a horrible wast of electrons, and it turned out to be better than expected.AFAIK the highbrow cable serial with many complex character arc has replaced the movie as cultural artwork. w/o distribution $$ the biz is unprofitable.

I loved it, except for some of the casting – really threw me. But it’s a drama bordering on documentary, and I tend to focus on the cultural role of movies as mythos (metaphysics) within the culture war (against civilization).

Surprise, #PreyMovie isn’t bad. 😉 Aside from an utterly unbelievable 40kg siberian-american power-chick, and casting french europeans as foul, it’s a traditional heroic action movie, free of other gratuities. That’s one good movie this year (Top gun) and one not bad (Prey).
