Sure it is. it’s a personal preference since people demonstrate a range of that preference. And the reason is clear: vast difference in group genetic, cultural, and institutional development. It’s very hard to create a northern Europe. It’s only been done three times.

If you understood genetics (you don’t) you’d want the opposite: isolation of many small groups (ethnocentric nation-states), with infrequent hybridization (intermixing), until adaptive improvement (intelligence, agency, conscientiousness, gracility, height, caloric conversion).

Yeah well, our history is rather obivious.
