I dated a jewish woman in college for a bit from a prominent dc political family and while the attraction was there just couldn’t get over the cultural gab. I remember very clearly, first date: “You’re the straightest guy I’ve ever met”.She didnt’ understand how I interpreted it.

AFAIK humans generally practice serial monogamy with significant cheating, and monogamy was generally limited to property owning classes. The jews only ended polygyny in the late middle ages, and the irish serial monogamy in the 1800’s.
