I remember visiting family or vacationing maine, new Hampshire, and Mass, when people still talked funny. 😉 I prefer it I think. The mid Atlantic thing is fine.But it didn’t evolve into received pronunciation – it devolved into a peasant pidgin. The south still ‘sounds proper’.
