All I think about is how much I love ukraine and the ukrainian people and want them to gain the benefits of western civlization like their cousins in poland have. It’s not that I don’t understand russian imperial aspirations. It’s just that I understand that they’re ‘bad’.

Every historian has a bias. Before working through Durang’s great (deep) work, I would read his lessons of history, heroes of history, great minds of history, each of which is a short read. Then McNeil’s rise of the west, and Fukuyama’s trust and ‘political order’ books.
