They are using the swastika because the Russian national narrative(equivalent of our revolutionary war, or the french revolution) is the “Great War”. So for Russians, nazi symbolism is a power symbol. Likewise see: UA soldiers dip bullets in pork lard b4 fighting Chechen muslims.

Really, look at poland’s numbers compared to ukraine’s. Poland was set back seventy years and because of polish institutions came back. The ukrainians haven’t yet been able to rebuild post-soviet institutions. Not enough people died from those generations yet.

Russia is 1.2, and a tiny poor economy, and it’s going to halve its population fairly shortly. That population is insufficient to hold back turkic-islamic, and chinese recovery of central and eastern asia. it’s just a clock. There is no exit to it.
