Um. Something like 40% of russians still use outhouses. When I worked with one of the biggest retailers in russia, notorious for selling track suits (lol) they couldn’t keep an internet connection open reliably.
Only 200M chinese are above nigerian levels of poverty.

Matt – that’s just false. Pairing off has been consistent, because men will kill over mates more than any other reason. But marriage as we understand it is the result of the evolution of property and inheritance. Jews only adopted monogamy in 15th c, and the Irish in the 19thc.

Warfare, esp in the European model is in large part responsible for rate of development. China stagnated when it unified. India stagnated because it was impossible to unify. Islam stagnated and couldn’t progress once unified. Evolution doesn’t favor peace. It favors competition.
