I dunno. Ukrainians, like Poles and Russians aren’t buying the multicultural thing at all. They know better. The average UA woman has no qualms about the truth.

  • “Q: Curt, when you have time can you explain why the German and Japanese people

–“Q: Curt, when you have time can you explain why the German and Japanese people are so similar when they’re so geographically distant.”–

    Great Question

TLDR; territory, feudalism, militia, craftsmen, hostile richer neighbor created culture of hierarchy, piety, and duty. (and iq)

    Explanation:

    0) Geography: Both Japan and Germany are territorally challenging to govern, despite access to the sea in japan and rivers in germany. Until the age of rail governing the territory was far more difficult than say, france or england.

    1) Medieval Feudalism
    Feudalism in Medieval Germany:
    – Hierarchy: The feudal system in Germany was characterized by a hierarchy where the king was at the top, followed by powerful nobles (dukes and counts), knights, and then peasants or serfs.
    – Land Ownership: The king granted lands, known as fiefs, to his vassals (nobles) in exchange for their loyalty and military service. These vassals could further subdivide and grant the land to lower-ranking vassals or knights.
    – Military Service: The vassals were obligated to provide military service to the king. This often involved serving a certain number of days in the king’s army or providing a certain number of knights for the king’s service.
    – Serfdom: Peasants, or serfs, worked the land for the nobles. They were tied to the land and could not leave without the noble’s permission. In return for their labor, they received protection and the right to cultivate a portion of the land for their own use.

    Feudalism in Medieval Japan:
    – Hierarchy: The Japanese feudal system was also hierarchical, with the Emperor at the top in theory, but the Shogun (military leader) held the real power. Below the Shogun were the Daimyo (land-owning lords), followed by the Samurai (warrior class), and then the peasants.
    – Land Ownership: Similar to Germany, the Shogun granted land to the Daimyo in exchange for their loyalty and military service. The Daimyo, in turn, had Samurai who served them.
    – Military Service: The Samurai provided military service to their Daimyo. They were professional warriors who were trained in martial arts and followed the Bushido code, which emphasized honor, loyalty, and bravery.
    – Farmers and Artisans: At the bottom of the hierarchy were the farmers and artisans. They were not tied to the land like serfs in Germany, but they were subject to high taxes and had little political power.

Note the duty/piety relationship with craftsmanship.
Note the odd relationship between german philosophy and chinese philosophy rather than religiosity.
Note that both these countries maximize duty and responsibility.

    2) Norms: Piety Duty and Social Harmony: Both Germany and Japan have historically placed importance on collectivism and social harmony. These cultural values encourage conformity, respect for authority, and a strong work ethic, contributing to the similarities observed between the two cultures.

    3) Parenting: the cultural value of respect for authority can be linked to authoritarian parenting styles prevalent in both countries, which in turn shaped individuals’ behavior and attitudes.

    4) Powerful Neighbors (china vs france)
Both the Holy Roman Empire and Japan had a history of intermittent conflict and alliances with France and China, respectively. These interactions shaped their political institutions, diplomacy, and territorial ambitions. For instance, the Holy Roman Empire and France often competed for influence in Europe, while Japan and China had periods of conflict and alliance throughout history.

    5) Nation-Building and Territorial Consolidation: Despite their different geographic locations, both Germany and Japan have a strong history of territorial expansion and the formation of cohesive nation-states. This shared experience of nation-building and territorial consolidation has likely contributed to similarities in cultural identity and the development of a strong national pride in both countries.

    6) Industrialization and Modernization: As both Germany and Japan became industrial powerhouses in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, they underwent societal changes that emphasized the importance of precision and efficiency to maintain economic competitiveness.

    7) Post-World War II Reconstruction: Both countries underwent a process of rebuilding and modernization after World War II that focused on education, innovation, and economic development. This resulted in the emergence of similar values and cultural practices centered around efficiency and discipline.

Eugenics was a mainstream and predominantly american movement in the pre-war era. It was the nazi ‘overzealousness’ and the postwar jewish counter-reaction that ended it. Unfortunelty, because any economist who studies the numbers, especially in crime, can easily identify how serious a problem this is and how fast dysgenia spreads in a population.

Soft eugenics = sterilization of the incompetent, with the definition of incompetent increasing over time until it means ‘capable of responsibility for the self’.

  • Chinese vs. Western DIfferences Explained Correct framing for Westerners. (a) Eu

    Chinese vs. Western DIfferences Explained

    Correct framing for Westerners.

    (a) Europeans solved the problem of politics with a prohibition on authority by the Greeks: an alliance of aristocratic families and those who wished to join them, and the enfranchisement of all landholders who fought into that opportunity., under a rule of law of natural law (sovereignty) and concurrency (not democracy). The Chinese did not solve the problem of politics with Confucius – and directed the civilization to a family hierarchy, preserving authority.

    (b) The Chinese are geographically isolated from the ‘hostile peoples’ of the middle east and less so from the steppe. The Europeans were far less so from both. So China had its consolidation period (warring states period) just prior to Europe having its wars against Rome. With the fall of Rome and the Christian destruction of the ancient world, Europe didn’t have its equivalent of the warring states period until the wars of religion (the birth of the nation-state) almost 2000 years later.

    (c) And while China had her opportunity for imperial expansion over many centuries to slowly integrate near-peoples into the Han culture (even though they are not Han), they had the opportunity for world colonization at the same time as the Europeans but having found India and Africa found nothing of value (they were right actually).

So the Europeans benefitted from the age of colonization.

Moreover, the northern Germans (Hansa) developed the modern political culture, the Dutch invented the modern economic model, and the British invented the modern state, and once the trade was restored, wealth was able to return to investment in competitive technology, and Europe left the world behind in the steel age as it had in the bronze age with the horse, and the ancient world with political systems, military organization, technology, and that most wonderful innovation: money.

    (d) So, in practical terms, China “should” have gone through the transition out of imperialism into economic nation-states as did Japan, but the political and economic burden was too great for a civilization that had failed to solve the problem of political cooperation by distribution instead of hierarchy. So, unfortunately, Mao chose communism and chose it poorly.

Today, it is evident that China would break up into nation-states for the betterment of all, at the cost of the communist party leadership that is almost as corrupt as the Russian. So to prevent another conflict, the CCP is trying to preserve the empire.

This is fine. The problem is that they’re trying to externalize this failure to manage their evolutoin from an empire into a federation, and it’s because they have a history of instability – precisely because their ancestors failed to solve the problem of politics. And it’s now ingrained in their culture.

    (e) Our estimation in the West is that this power cannot hold indefinitely because the corruption is overwhelming, the population is collapsing, china is dependent upon american protection of her sea lanes of trade, and because the world was “kind to China’ in shipping our manufacturing there precisely in the hope china would grow into a modern rule-of-law, rules-based-order that would see the continued prosperity of the Chinese people and prevent the restoration of wars of empires and ideology.

So the West is playing a game of delay until collapse, while China, following tradition, is playing a game of delay and deceive until they can assert sufficient local power that the CCP and the empire can continue rather than evolve into more prosperous and independent nation-states, given that china is an empire over multiple ethnicities. It’s very easy to understand our differences. We believe that the Chinese population, like the European population, is capable of more if it has more liberty. And if it did so, the world would embrace China for something other than the money it would soon run out of, at the expense of its citizens, who need it more than foreigners.

Turkey is a ‘torn country’ meaning it is a borderland between two different groups, and because of it’s location it contains a pretty complex genetic distribution. (“Mongrel”)

The west anatolian(black sea) and east iranic(caspian sea) branches did separate in the distant hunter gatherer age. Followed by post-natufian farmer introgression. mesopotamian empire expansion, Caucuses and steppe introgression, Iranic expansion, and of course the widespread travel under the muslim empires, including the capture of the islamic empires by the turks. But there is very little trace of turkic ancestry in their genetics. It was a largely cultural and religious transformation.
I’ve humorously arguee that god went thru greece and turkey with an ugly stick punishing them for some long forgotten crime, because the different gene pools had a heck of a time practicing selection. 😉
Now in practical terms, southern italian, greek, anatonian and some caucasian people are closely related. While half of turkey is populated by the Kurds, who really do want and need a separate kurdistan. And they are an iranic people.
As for europeans the more westward you move into europe along the mediterranean from anatolia, the more hunter gatherer and steppe integration. And while italians are proud of their heritage they are heavily italo-celtic and germanic in the north.

And of course, like Rome, we don’t yet grasp that the Christian destruction of the ancient world, (then the Muslim), the strategy was precisely the same. After all what is the difference between the seditions and false promises of the Abrahamic religion and the Marxist religions? There isn’t any: just sophistry combined with supernatural vs pseudoscientific argument. So fool me once shame on you. Fool me (us) twice shame on us.

    Without writing a missive:
it’s poverty, ignorance, false prosperity in decoration vs wealth, knowledge, and true prosperity in design.
Today: Hindu buses, jewelry. Southeast asian temples vs German industrial design.
The more competent the more purity of form, the less competent the more use of detail and decoration.
General the MENA studied the Stars, and supernatural, and Europeans studied nature and supernormal. The difference between europeans saw a heroic man, the asians a disgusting man, and the MENA a hatred of man. This is their representationalism. Now, this also reflects the trust in societies: European high trust, Chinese medium trust. MENA low trust.
All artistic variation between civlizatations can be explaind as a projection of their metaphisical, economic, political and technoligical development. Art is a technology like any other.
