The Jewish equivalent of art is verbal and imaginary, not material. Diasporic peoples rarely produce arts. Art marks territory. Territorial people make art. With Infrastructure, monument, architecture, sculpture, painting, decoration, and craftsmanly goods constituting a hierarchical expression of their wealth. Their portable literature of the mind is both inexpensive, and impossible to tax, or steal from them. So while we agree that jews do not in practice make arts of landed peoples, they do make their own art. And the differences in those arts inform us.
