Both. Can’t escape it. Really hard to argue with east asians since they outbreed so fast that the disappear into the population and that’s ‘true integration’. I have sparse data on the consequences (interracial admixture isn’t often a good thing at scale). But it appars that since we are both highly neotenous that it largely works.
It’s possible that the south americans can integrate if we give them twenty years and put them under pressure to do so.
But you can’t fix the IQ problem. Japan does everything right. It’s hard to argue with the chinese. And the russian constitutional priority of ethnic russians is pretty clear. We could probably handle anything if it’s from middle class and upward, and christian.

Inventiveness requires cultural and cognitive factors that differ between civilizations. China hasn’t so much been uninventive as they evolved a political system that put bureaucratic achievement ahead of commercial, scientific, industrial and technological innovation. If you understand chinese history as far worse at tyring to maintain stability than even european you sort of see how this comes into being. China started out empirical like europe but just as we have seen here, rapidly devolved into moralizing which produced a non-empirical and politically absurd government dependent upon authority. They never developed our concept of law at all. Just ‘orders’.

Read “human accomplishment”. Not to diminish chinese history, but being first is not the same as being most or fastest, and europe was most and fastest, and most often first. Between 95-98% of human invntion was western. China is interesting largly for invention but then doing nothing with it or even supressing it. However rice is a better caloric crop even if rice farming is a worse time crop. And with that large a population concentrating that much surplus, they could do amazing things. especially those monster ships. 😉

I do my work in an order that is determined by whatever is blocking me. The roman and medeival periods are relatively simple to discuss, and otehrs have. I’m most concerned about that indo european expansion because that’s wen europe came into being bcaue that’s where our group evolutionary strategy came into being.
