The only way I’m going to ‘get it’ is to go live in Germany like I have in eastern Europe. I’ve spent plenty of time there. I’ve hired germans. I’ve worked with german executives. But I haven’t done the 6m-18m immersion it takes to translate social cues into group strategies.
