PhDs: In Biz (team member) vs Academy (individual expert)
(via David M Giltner, a PhD, Physics)

In biz, PhD’s are valued for their technical skills… but:

Problem: 1) they think they’re smarter than everyone else, 2) they find fault not solutions, 3) they want to keep analyzing and not make a decision and moving forward.

Solution: Team player vs Individual Expert a) Be effective not just smart: don’t become the expert – the opposite of academia b) Find solutions not faults: don’t be the naysayer (Exhaust the potential of an idea) c) Be Decisive: have the courage to make the best decision you can with the information you have, in the time you have, and move forward.

(Note that I haven’t had this problem with tech staff but I’ve had it with every other class I’ve hired. Though my primary complaint in meetings is fault finders instead of trying to make an idea work until it can’t.)

For MS, the OS is a vulnerability.
For Apple the iPhone is a vulnerability.

We know how to exploit each one of these.

    (The Crazies are Real) 😉
About once a year, someone tries to get involved in our organization, or, we try to invest in, and that person turns out be mentally unstable. All movements in the political sphere carry this risk. We’re pretty good at using time and observation to filter them out. But they still get through. And the only thing we can do is obtain a restraining order.

By abandoning our efforts to ‘save the lost boys’ we’ve dramatically reduced our need to defend against the dark triad personalities.

This is why we are so concerened about continuing work on social media.

FWIW: it turns out that the issues we had with the FBI were due to one of my stalkers reporting me (us) and sperging all sorts of nonsense.

When the first ads within games came out, I think it was within Counter-Strike, I thought ‘this is the end of the industry’. It will kill the game industry.

And I’m still convinced that any in game monetization is the equivalent of porn, social media, and media-propaganda.

And no I haven’t played a computer game for a year, and even then for two weeks as a birthday present to myself. And before that I don’t think since 2012.

    (NLI Community Love)
    Why Our Organization Succeeds

One of the reasons our organization is so successful at producing work, and working together to produce it – and now, striving at putting it to practice, is that we are all on the hyper-moral end of the spectrum, and we love and respect eachother.

In fact, I would venture that the people who stay in the organization vs those that move on, all do so partly because of the brotherhood (and sisters) that we’ve developed because we are full of love and moral conviction. Even when the truths we discover are uncomfortable for us (and certainly for others.)

While we believe we are working to fix the problems facing the broken people, ‘the left and right extremes’, that’s why we don’t really have room in NLI for those broken people, all too often full of justifiable anxiety, frustration, anger and rage, because they can’t get past those feelings enough to abandon retribution instesad of seeking to do the right and moral thing for everyone – including the ‘evil’ folk who in our judgement need parenting and governing, and sometimes court, prosecution and punishment, until they are calm conscious, and moral too.

Though you know, it’s rather apparent if you do this work for a while, that people often confuse what they percieve as good as moral, when it is very often not. I would say, that’s a normal human universal cognitive bias. It’s part of the normalcy bias.

But the universe is evolutionary and merciless. The universe, solar system, the planet, and nature are not fair but brutal. And in that universe, life is not fair. But we can, at least try to make make it moral. Meaning we cannot accomplish all wanted goods, but we can with incremental effort, suppress all unwanted bads.

Despite that many if not most people in pursuit of their presumed good ( really their personal advantage at the lowest cost and risk) will always and eerywhere act immorally at every opportunity that they can get away with.

So it’s our job to finish the five thousand year work of western civilization in producing ascience of cooperation that we call the law, a constitution embodying it, and economy operating under it, and a society that is as moral as possible, given human abilities and frailties.

We’ve actually done it. (No Really). And in restrospect, our founders, and their english predecessors, and their germanic predecessors, and their roman and greek predecessors, and thir corded ware predecessors, and thei indo european apreecessors had it far more right than you’d think. And far far more right than all other civilizations combined.

    It’s just coutner intutive.

It means we all must bear the maximum responsibility for private and common, and create an perpetuate institutions that persist that responsibility – and this what ‘whiteness’ means: individual responsibility. Not individualism. But Individual responsibilty the product of which is the high trust society wa call ‘commons-osm’ instead.

The natural common concurrent law of cooperation between the sexes classes and nations.
