—“Q: What laptop/computer do you use? Screen size? Interesting other odd bits for the tech nerds?”–
I’m boring. I use multiple 15″ intel based macbook pros. A fully loaded intel based mac mini with three 24″ Dell monitors, an early mac pro server, Toshiba external hard drives for backup and archiving, an apple Airport Extreme 3T Time capsule, an apple US keyboard, a v1 trackpad, a v1 magic mouse, a logitech camera, an iPad with keyboard, and an iPhone 12 and iPhone 6.
I use chrome, with Session Buddy, uBlock, Stylebot, DeMainstream, Tab Suspender, Backstop, Changecase plugins. And five OSX desktops on the laptops to separate tasks and eleven on the desktop whr I hav ovr 230 tabs open at a time, and Chrome’s Tag groups, and tab group saves enabled.
Part of my dedication to OSX is from having Microsoft as a client for over twenty years, and the related bad memories. My company’s SAS code base uses the open source stack. So with OSX I get both a unix box with exceptional shell and UI, that never crashes or catches a virus, and all my devices work together flawlessly.
The rest is that I still have a 17″ Macbook pro from 2010 that works fine, and another 15″ from 2014 that I’m typing on at the moment. And by comparison Windows boxes only last a year or two. It just makes better economic sense to pay for mac.
I also just read and type, and I don’t play video games since swearing off of them as a waste of time beginning in 2010 to around 2012 – so thats the only reason to own a PC. Though I do miss Morrowind-to-Skyrim, Dead Space(s), and Borderlands(s) at times. And as a birthday present, I have taken a two week vacation to play SCUM on Nvidia’s platform. π
I am at least vaguely human you know. π
Cheers
