It does make sense because X favors content creators and discounts others as spreaders (spammers). And that’s a good thing. If you developed the ability to riff off articles then you’d produce content with insight. But streams of ‘confirmation bias’ aren’t creating value.

That chart doesn’t tell us anything meaningful about the marginal behavior especially since it’s from the GSS. At least in GenZ, the ratio of 10% male to 20% female looks closer 5% to 20% simply by the ratio of men without and women with in the 1 month, 3 month and 1 year time…

Gold is being driven by inflation (like everything else), in an effort to hedge against the coming correction (as usual). It’s getting almost impossible to protect asset value except by seeking momentum in financial markets in order to stave off losses. That capacity to do so is and will continue to evaporate.

I’ve been surprised the tech sector prolonged the illusion as long as it has, when the rest of the economy without that sector looks pretty depressing. As someone who built tech companies, I’m glad I made my money in tech when I did. 😉

I’m not sure what point you’re making.
Story is the most general term:
Phoneme, Morpheme, Syllable, Word, Phrase, Clause, Sentence, Paragraph, Passage, Section, Chapter, Story, Anthology, Collection, Compendium, Library.

Metaphysics is what I was referring to
    Yes epistemology becuase of it.
    Terms (dimensions) because of both.
Logical rules because of all three.
Grammatical rules are the same though to ‘get away’ with suggestion and deception certain rules are ignored or evaded (verb to be, causality, responsibility).
Fundamentally it’s all geometry (dimensions and manifold) Which is why today’s AIs work as they do.

Technically speaking the paradigms (metaphysics (presumptions), epistemology (constraints), logic (identity, consistency coherence), terms (referents), grammar (rules of continuous recursive disambiguation)) are deterministic given what premises one begins with.

    Hence the full spectrum of:
    embodiment > anthropomorphism > mythology(counting) > theology(arithmetic) > philosophy(Logic, Geometry) > empiricism(calculus) > science (instrumentation) > computation(simulation, operationalism).
Each in that sequence increases the demands on metaphysics, epistemology, logic, terms, and of course, precision A well a sw hat one can claim is true.

I would need some sort of evidence given the data is consistent and has been over the past ten years. The reason is simple distribution – few men ‘accessing’ many women.

    Q: CURT: ~~”Predictions of the Future?”~~

I’ve been saying since about 2004 that I have a very clear picture of the world until 2020 but after that I have no idea what’s on the other side. Because it will be determined by the noise (chaos) of the rapid adjustment of populations economies power, and cultural ambitions as the end of endless growth and comparative advantage return us to a semi state of equality similar to the agrarian age, which we haven’t seen in six hundred. years.

So while I can enumerate a spectrum of possibilities I think at present the calculus consists of who collapses first: the russia-iran-china axis and attempted restoration of empires, or the american-european attempt to create nation states with europe (france really) foolishly trying to create another america and america devolving as was originally intended into a continent of culturally different nation states (or collections thereof).

If the USA has an internal conflict first, then I would expect the world to explode very rapidly, and risk to increase beyond comprehension. If the world confict launches first it might suppress internal USA conflict. However there is no chance that our government or the world, or the world’s perception of itself and its future looks anything like the 20th.

We are learning that our utopian dreams were childish ambitions and a folly no matter which point of the political triangle we advocated.

I orginally thought that the USA would ‘correct’ before the rest of the world seized the opportunity to restore their imperial ambitions. And that’s in part because I assumed the rest of the world understood the consequence of the end of the anglo order.

    But apparently not.

So… All I know at present is that we’re going to have a very bad ‘decade’ – like the seventies – and possibly. more (like japan) but ‘we’re in new territory’. we have no economic model for the future we’re entering other than the post-roman return to the farms. And that’s pretty scary.

Yes, I think what you’re saying is that for a woman sexual engagement, is an expression of vulnerability that is easily suppressed by external anxieties. And that asking a man to achieve that level of vulnerability takes some imagination, provided by the example you stated.

I guess I am having trouble testing that against the evidence. If you said that women’s intuitions in these matters follow a normal distribution and you’re describing one end of it.

I mean, I’ve gained weight since I was ill and turned the corner on age, but I would happily have walked down the street naked and shouting at the top of my lungs if I had something worth saying in such a forum. ;). And I’ve certainly met women (most of them) who were far more aggressive in sexual pursuit than I was. And today the evidence is that the the fk-boys are vastly outnumbered by the number of fk-girls. As such as is usual, male regulation is self regulation because of the risks, while female regulation is provided entirely by other women and pandora is out of the box so to speak without regulation by other women.

Now I can understand that marriage suppresses female interest more so than male interest. And I can understand that marriage and children suppress female capacity to maintain marketability. And I understand as well or more than most the female need for novelty and novel attention vs males. And as such that would drive insecurity. But I’m having difficulty envisioning what I interpret as the extreme position you illustrated. And I’m assuming this is a projection rather than a generalization – because the generalization doesn’t fit the data (also doesn’t fit my experience).

    Thanks
