Opinion: Today’s Anthropic Claude 3 Release
Interesting”
(+) For my (academic (postgrad)) audience, claude writes more succinctly and clearly and I can get a quality response from just one or two prompts. With chatgpt 4 I may need to ask three to four questions to force it into clarity.
(-) Claude 3 seems to ‘know less’. It certainly knows less about me and my work.
I’ll work with it this week and try to learn whether it’s truly an improvement or not.

My grandfather’s day, if you had 1M (he inherited more than that) you could live any reasonable life you could imagine.
Back in my father’s day (thirty years ago) if you owned your house, had 1M in savings, and Social Security you were in pretty good retirement condition – depending upon your expenses (some of us are cheap others are expensive). π
In my day, by 2010 2M was the minimum and in 2024 it’s approaching 3M.
Now most of this has to do with housing and taxes, but if you study my (our) work you’ll find that everything in the USA is inflated but that we can fix that problem relatively easily with simple changes that will take about ten years to play out.

No. It’s a very clear point of constitutional law. It didn’t take much discussion. I’ll read all the opinions tonight or tomorrow. But as I stated before it’s obvious.
They also stated that they only referred to the most obvious issue – they didn’t even touch on the other issues. But I covered those issues in both interviews and posts in January.
The disturbing question here is why this even made it past a state supreme court. But if you want the truth – it’s women in those courts and the effect of women in those courts on those courts. The vast majority of bad judges are women. The vast majority of complaints against judges are against female judges.

I won’t let them pay me. But they can give me cookies. π
So today I stepped out of my home only to find fresh cookies on the table outside the door. π
Life’s little charming surprises. π

Definition:
Irony (eye’-ruhn-ee)
When there’s a significant gap between what is expected or intended and what occurs, what is said and what is meant, or what is understood by different parties.
I frequently use the term in the context of “painful illustration of the tendency for human folly.” It’s a very smug form of humor. π
When I studied writing in college my work was both criticized and complimented for consisting of ‘extended irony’…. which is, well, probably how I see the world: almost entirely constituted of children running with scissors. π
Elitist prick yes. But I work for my people not against them. π

I think you provide the vast majority of intellectually entertaining content on Twitter. Even if it is ironic and painful most of the time. π

The most just and accurate criticism the community can levy against me, and one that I will admit to, is that I am overly biased toward giving the enemy the benefit of the doubt because I grasp with painful precision the inability, ignorance, folly, and vulnerability of the followers of the enemy, even if I am fully aware that there are those among the enemy who are deliberate in their warfare, treason, sedition, and crimes against our people, their institutions, their culture and their civilization – the only civilization that would tolerate their treason by virtue of our foolish optimism that those born with defective (evil) instincts and intuitions can ‘learn and evolve’ without costly and tedious indoctrination into moral thought and behavior.
