Ok. I’ll say something from deep personal experience with the Project 2 Degrees, Clinton, Gore, and other unnamed governors, bureaucrats, special interests, bureaucracies (including losing $2M because of Clinton’s dishonesty). There was absolutely no way to determine whether this was a scam or not back in 2009, and when the data came out that they WERE suppressing contradictory data, they destroyed faith in the science going forward. Since then, we’ve learned that the models are improving but not anywhere near the projections. And that population adaptation as we continue sub-replacement reproduction, natural pollution reduction that accompanies wealth, plus conversion to nuclear alone will likely settle the matter before the dramatic predictions take place.
So I have enough personal experience with these people that I agree we’re increasing the temperature independent of solar, orbital, and tilt cycles, but ‘trust the science’ is done with not only there but in most fields.
I spend (my organization spends) far too much time filtering bad science.
And we have done too much work on academic publishing reform legislation to do anything other than take practical measures rather than fall in to funding false promise of extremes.
