But both the engine of evolutionary pressure (africa’s horizontal climate shifts) and the presence of competitors (proximity) produced whatever leap that occurred in east africa’s rift valley (the ‘whole package’) – even if, what appears to be the next leap, was due to accessing the then-dry persian gulf. Unfortunately it’s underwater. But none of these papers change the general narrative – they only express that gene flow was continuous both directions even if limited.)
