FEMALE FRIENDS
I love having female friends. They just need to be in secure relationships, and there can’t be any attraction other than personality. Especially female friends I’ve developed working together. So yes, it can work. Are they friends you hang out with? No. But talk with. Lunch with now and then. Sure. In fact the more the better.
I would say that I’d have more but women often assume you have interest in other than learning from one another. I have three female friends that I assume think I’m interested in more than keeping in touch – largely because I think they’re good people and it makes me happy to see them happy.
Someone suggested that most of these friendships are mentoring relationships. And I’d say that’s probably true even though I don’t see it that way. From my viewpoint I find it helpful to see the world through women’s eyes, and especially when asking advice about friendships and relationships and such.
So the ‘mentor’ relationship suggestion was helpful in understanding what works.
