And the conservative effort to abandon them is the least intelligent strategy I can imagine – and that’s saying a lot given the anti-intellectual and generally unintelligent strategy of conservatives in general.
It’s not as if not spending money there would be spent at home. That’s not what would happen. It would continue to be appropriated by the cathedral complex for their own ends.
