Hmmm, RL?
3+ are correct. And important.
I’m pretty rock solid on 1+2, whether genetic, archeological, cultural, institutional or linguistic.
And, either your term ‘migration’ means something different, or something else is off. I mean, it’s pretty clear that the west is (((WHG + EEHG) + EEF) + WSH), in a cline from the southwest to the northeast. We can even see the remains of the HG isolates along the mediterranean during the ice age and their migration northward as it retreated. It’s then bisected by the ‘horse people’. Splitting, most evidently Haplogroup I north and south.
As far as I know, and I’ve seen nothing but the bloody archeologica and genetic evidence so to speak, there are at least three geographic lines of introgression that mirror linquistic remains. And the process appears to have consisted of the young males killing extant european males, and then they kept their women, animals, and land. I mean, by the time they got there they basically ethnically cleansed the british isle.
The spartans are our only historical memory of their behavior, though the spartans brought it to an extreme after the revolt by the ‘serfs’.
So I’m clearly missing something.
ACRONYMS:
WHG Western Hunter Gatherer
EEHG Eastern European Hunter Gatherer
EEF Early European Farmer (anatolians)
WSH Western Steppe Herder
