Illogical statement.
He merely lacked the knowledge that all humans were derivative of the four races that resulted from the four speciation events. But given his work in categorization of biological life forms, he would have rather easily understood, just as did biologists categorizing the tree of life, that there were only four root races, and all peoples were the result of those races and the cultures that they adapted given the technolgies and resources and competitors available to, and surrounding them.
