You are confused. Duchesne asked why ethnic neocons are so obsessed with russia. There are two sides of this question. One is that russia’s rejection of liberalism and stalwart resistance to its spread is a threat to both neocons and progressives. The other is that russia is an ally in the war against the spread of liberalism and woke-i-tude which is meaningful to dejected conservatives.

I added my opinion and understanding of why this might be felt by others.

I have worked, run companies, owned companies, and lived around the world. So I have a grasp of local cultures and why they behave as they do, and why it’s often rational that they do so, even if that rationality is based upon false information, superstition, and absurd tradition.

That said, as someone who has lived in, run a company, and a think tank in ukraine, and participated in that little revolution, I of course am always vehemently on the side of ukraine.

So I interpret these things like Christianity and science. I can both practice Christian ethics, pray to god, and maintain a purely scientific reason, because I don’t treat Christianity as real but spiritual, and I don’t treat science as spiritual but real. Many people are not capable of maintaining this dichotomy without conflict.

I am sure that I would interpret you as an unworthy nitwit in real life, and morally incompetent. That does not mean that I would not work to make the world a better place for you.
