Just a quick sketch because Dr Brad tired me out today:
1. Someone has to raise the children, collect the trash, clean the sewers, lay the bricks, fix the plumbing, and operate the oil rigs. With a 150IQ civ at 15 points of SD, that means no one living will want to do that work or tolerate doing it.
2. At 125 you can design a machine. At about 130+ you can run a company or write well enough to synthesize complex ideas for consumption by other people. At about 140+ you can start discovering new ideas, and about 150+ you begin to bias your thinking in favor of some specialization and start to ‘diverge’ from the value of cooperative interactions. In other words divergent eccentricity starts to creep in. So you’d expect some sort of social and political and possibly economic breakdown at that point.
3. It is more advantageous to have more aspies than just IQ points, and more advantageous to have people with high conscientiousness (and lower agreeableness) than high IQ.
4. There is a limit of returns on IQ that diminishes rather linearly. Outliers are just outliers. However, if we get the IQ over 115 and certainly at 120 we have a very large supply of +140s and … what do we do with them? 😉
5. If we work with 2SD (2x15pts=30pts) with a 120-130 IQ average, that means we still have people in the 90s, but we don’t have many in the 80s. Better, if we narrow the SD to say 12 pts we trim the bottom even more.
