While the author’s piece is easily criticized as statring from false premises of not understanding (g) as a measure of neural plasticity (frictionlessness, rate of evolutionary adaptation), in the disambiguation (organization) of sensation (vibrations) into spatial world model (potential episodes), and the production of competing predictions, and subsequent continous recursive hierarchical recursion produced by scale of time and space as memory scales, including the preservation of state (attention) for the direction of that prediction – all of which are evolutions of wayfinding as the original three layers of cortical tissue double to six, expanding organization of movement in response to stimuli into organization of prediction of movement in time to pursue anticipated (predicted) rewards.
The result being an ever increasing scale of predicting fields of possibility from autoassociation of episodic memories to produce possiblities for action that we can hold in attention while recursively wayfinding to reach a possible solution, including ‘mind-reading’ bodily imitation, sympathy of intent and thought, and empathy of emotional state.
In other words with just movement, senses, embodiment, memory, wayfinding, and attention, all phenomena in the brain are emergent.
However, his claims that closure (‘logical behavior”) requires:
(a) correspondence with treality.
(b) organization by embodiment
(c) auto association (pattern matching)
(d) preservation of homeostasis
(e) emergence of continous recursive auditing (self)
… are all correct.
in other words mastery of not only neuroscience (prediction), what little science exists in psychology and cognitive science, as well as the foundations of mathematics and computation are necessary to communicate a cogent understanding of the ‘operational paradigm of existence, organization, means and methods’ of cellular cooperation in the production of the defeat of entropy by increase of consumption in time’.
