Women are conformists and will adapt to what other women do – only after it’s obvious that it’s to their advantage. The only question is when will it become obvoius. Some theorists think sooner, some of us later. I think it will require the loss of a generation (happening now) which will cause unrecoverable consequences and a dramatic need for change. But people often ‘wise up’ before that. And minor changes in the law will restore ratioal incentives, and the continued world contraction of standard of living (continuing class stagnation) will provide that incentive.
