This is obviously the case in europe for the simple reason that a variety of institutions suppressed lower class reproduction but economic constraints (farming) limited middle class expression. So we should (and we do) see a ‘reserve’ of the genetic middle and upper middle classes in the european gene pool at least above the hajnal line, that could rise in economic condition as economic constraints were reduced by the sequence of literacy, agrarian, commercial, financial, revolutions.
The USA benefitted heavily from german migration for this reason if no other.
