Thought experiment: Is this just applicable to children in western civilization?
Western civilization’s pursuit of responsibility for commons and heroism in contribution to the commons, by truth and beauty, duty and reciprocity, discovery and innovation, adaption and evolution. Now, take the same claim and apply it to the foundations of other civilizations. Western man seeks to defeat the vicissitudes of nature. What would the child in other civilizations seek to defeat?
