THE CHILD MIND
by @LukeWeinhagen
As dependence undermines the dynamic of our interactions being exchanges of value, the part of our brain focused on survival demands we produce another answer to the unavoidable question (even if it is a lie to ourselves that we hope others also believe) –

The fist principle of ethics:
Q: “Why don’t I kill you and take your stuff?”
A: “Because I am valuable”
Becomes –
Q: “Why don’t I kill you and take your stuff?”
A: “Because I am special”
The first principle of childishness.

The child mind expressing their entitlement to your attachment to them as a child, dumbfounded that you would even question that expectation.
