I had to do this through work, intellectual pursuits, or through art. Others do it through sports. It doesn’t matter. What I don’t see as constructive is doing it through video games. It’s sedating. It works. It’s better than nothing.

As @NoahRevoy advises, you need a group of successful men more than a relationship – at least successful at the class and stage of life you’re seeking. The whole ‘go your own way’ thing isn’t quite right. It’s socializing, developing friendships, doing things in real world.
