So again, if you study the cultural literature, Turkey is a ‘torn country’ that survives anyway just as the Byzantines survived – by virtue of the optimum geographic location on planet earth. If western Turks were still Xian instead of Muslim we’d include them as European, yes.

Turks are a hybrid people of north asian, iranic, and minor caucasian mixture. People who live in Turkey, at least in the west, are largely genetically Greek. So the people of Turkey? Those who speak Turkic, or those who are Turks?
No they aren’t european.
