BTC world domination is Wishful Thinking. Sorry. Zero chance I am wrong on long term state action – that states will only ‘tolerate’ BTC until it’s no longer tolerable. At present, given it’s largely used for criminal activity, and therefore consumer funding of criminal activity thru appreciation.

You can take it to the bank so to speak that if I know how to destroy it, the govt certainly has someone they can call upon to destroy it. And it’s easy. I will never consider myself wrong by the market cap measure. The tipping point will be when the state loses any influence over the economy, or when BTC becomes a risk to the economy.

The higher the BTC cap, the bigger the problem is. If I were the govt I would learn all I could from it, develop a treasury equivalent that didn’t eat power supplies, and offer a 30day exchange as of date of announcement, before prohibiting all use, under peanalty of asset siezure. I would issue a bounty in the new fed-coin for anyone reporting someone else’s use of BTC, including a percentage of the assets of whom they reported. This would turn into a hacker industry that profited from the collapse of BTC.

Right now, like I’ve said all along,the private sector is doing off book empirical research for the state. The state will use the fact that BTC is funding criminal organizations at massive scale in order to justify its suppression.
