@Rhodok Good answer, good position to take. I think the difference in our positions is one of self perception of agency. Spengler like most germans including nietzsche back to hegel was unable to disentagle religious fatalism from scientific determinism. The romans only failed because they wouldn’t ‘kill enough of them’. Or as Martin Creveld has said to Bebe “Just kill them and keep kiling them until they stop coming over the wall’. I’m far more anglo saxon: it’s just force, institutions, and time. All that matters is power. Power is a matter of incentive, opportunity, and will. As I’ve said before, it takes 100K men to show up to win. The first 10K are what get the rest. I fucked up not going into the capitol because I assumed leadership had learned, was competent, and I didn’t want to step on toes again. That was a missed opportunity to issue rational demands. That’s what the state cannot tolerate. They cannot tolerate rational demands. They need to bait the right into chaos. And the right is stupid enough and leaderless enough to fall for it every time. Victory is easy. Overcoming right wing macho boys is not.
