–“Curt: Have you written a book? Or are all your writings virtual?”— Ryan McDonald
I work by sketching ideas on facebook iteratively over a few months, consolidating them to the web site, incorporating and editing them into a book, and then into courseware, then revising the book given what I learned from the courseware.
So the web site is sort of a record of the progress of the work since I’ve taken it public. It’s been an intereting experience.
The Outline contains the major themes, and links to key posts in what I call the core. The majority of the content is up there. the TECHNICAL is not. The courses and the book have the technical parts of the work.
It is a vast project. I am pretty close to done. The primary difficulty has been ‘making it simple’ which the courses have helped me do a lot. That’s why I switched over to courseware – to make sure I could make it communicable. I’ve found that using illustrations in the courseware has helped a great deal. And transferring them to the book will help as well.
I’ve broken the book into a couple of pieces so twe have at least three books planned, the first of which is the most important.
The rest is editing. The problem is that while I can write for ours and hours a day I can only edit a few hours a day without getting exhausted.
(I’ll humbly ask for prayers to any and every god for the stamina to get it done faster … lol… but as George RR martin has said a lot lately, it only comes to you as fast as it comes to you…) I am definitely ‘slowing down’ over the past few years.
