We are missing the geometry of the primary structure of the subatomic universe because we can’t deduce it from testifiable information with our present methods, instruments and math, and it likely must be discovered by ‘evolving’ it by trial and error using massive computation.

Everything from the later phases of the emergence of our universe to evolution to the evaporation of black holes is at least instrumentally observable, testifiable, emergent and explicable by the explanatory power of the short list of the laws of the universe.
