( I’ve asked her many times what ‘that face means’ and she says ‘I can’t remember, but I think it’s i’m not sure I trust you, or ‘lets got on with this’, or ‘i know something you don’t know’. )Curt Doolittle(Mother)Mar 2, 2019, 2:11 PMJames DulinCurt Doolittle I have friends in Maryland with that surname. (Antique auction company owners). Curious if it is any relationMar 2, 2019, 2:18 PMCurt DoolittleTwo theories of origin. One is that Theriault is one of the many variations of Thiery, a derivative of germanic theodoric. I find this less likely. Other High Ground” or more likely “land worker” (farmer). Origins apparently in Brittany (where most of my mother’s side appears to have come from), although genetics of the theriault’s looks more gaulish than breton. Most trace to Nova Scotia where they were forcibly removed by the british, and moved into main then the rest of new england. Also some immigrants into boston colony early. So it’s not an uncommon name.Mar 2, 2019, 2:55 PMCurt DoolittleMothers family research on Ouellette was migration from england by the Name of Wells france and then Ouellette. Theriault’s were middle and upper middle (prosperous farmers), and Oulettes (less prosperous) farmers that hired out to other families when necessary. They were alien to me growing up. I have come to love them.Mar 2, 2019, 2:58 PMPaul NunezThis your Anglo side?Mar 2, 2019, 3:09 PMCurt Doolittlefrench.Mar 2, 2019, 3:09 PMCurt Doolittleanglo of the same period is very haughtyMar 2, 2019, 3:09 PMPaul NunezI seeMar 2, 2019, 3:31 PMSerg GioYou probably got watchful (curious) eyes from your momMar 3, 2019, 5:44 AMChristian WarwickYou have your mother’s eyes mate.
