I agree. Mythology is for teaching and for telling. It is not for negotiating or conflict resolution. One can encapsulate truth in myth. But myth can contain information regardless of its truth, flasehood, ethical or unethical, moral or immoral contents. Myth is a boat for the conveyance of meaning. But we still must be able to ascertain the truth of falsehood of teh contents of the boat.
