When old men give you presents, you do not say no. By doing so, you deprive them of feeling that they still matter. Instead, take it and give them appreciation. Thank them twice more over the next year. The only danger sign is if they want to talk to you. If they’re trying to buy a friend that’s bad. If they are trying to satisfy a yearning to make a difference that’s a good thing. Enjoy, and don’t deprive them of it.
