Shrilling, or being a ‘shrill’ was illegal in most of our history A woman could be publicly punished for it. Our mistake was Free Speech rather than truthful, reciprocal, and disciplined speech. They never imagined we’d do away with the Duel, or Publicly beating Shrills/Gossips.
