Trust me is a bad argument. If even 2K men show up at your neighborhood and tell you that you can’t ‘keep what you kill’ so to speak (loot), decimate the enemy, and plus that if we win, you’ll be in political power.
Nothing beats in-person recruitment – break the 4th wall.
