So instinctually and pragmatically it was better to try to control (manipulate, seduce) males and rise in the hierarchy in a band of females than to be captured by other males and rise in a different hierarchy. But the risk always existed. Males killed males but captured females.

@bishkebab3 The answer is unpleasant. Priority to survive by fitting in. Because females were treated, like territory, as the property of a band of males throughout all of primate history. Males captured females. So female priority is children&women first regardless of male tyrants(owners).
