PhD? Heck, I couldn’t even find anyone who could comprehend what I was saying – and that’s before they all told me it was impossible to put together a dissertation committee across all those disciplines, or allow me to take forever to do the work. And that’s after I already knew that academic serfdom on the one hand, politics on the other, and my trait disagreeableness combined would make success impossible.
The best advice I got from everyone who offered any of merit was ‘You don’t need a phd, just write books’.

And so… I took the advice. 😉 I built companies and now I write books. 😉
