Well, you know, it’s been going backward for decades and now we want it to move forward? We need to clean academic house in most fields, and we need to alter incentives for analysis, engineering, and design rather than financialization. And that competition within the states is going to be tough because money is going to keep flying to the states for the foreseeable future.
