It’s the difference between failing to understand your argument or your point of view, vs understanding you simply err, or worse, are using motivated reasoning. You attribute local failure to resist rational incentives and soft power with the inability to resist hard power, and advocacy for hard power. Why is it you cannot demand a polity bear responsibility for not following incentives or soft power? Teasing: You’re claiming you and your country are oppressed, a victim, victims, because your fellow citizens make choices different from those you prefer? The problem is domestic not international. What’s wrong with your people that they follow rational incentives? 😉 If you want to argue for a monarchy and a constitution and an education system that would have the power to resist consumption vs capitalization (which is how I take your argument). But saying you’ll blame others for your own (collective) choices is rather ‘leftist’.
