You are, like Martin, and like most of the right, confusing the anglosphere’s rules based order, with the abuse of it by the progressive, marx-trotsky, feminist-woke spectrum during and after the world wars that ended the empires.
We needed those ‘abuses’ as propaganda to contain the communists. But we allowed them to gain too much power via credentialism in education, academy, media, and state. Why? Foolish anglo and christian optimism. Our conservatives assumed the left ‘will learn’ to see the light – but they didn’t. They just doubled down as they accumulated political power through the industrialization of propaganda and lying via the talking classes.
So we must purge these people from those positions (which is our current mission), and leave the rules based order standing. Otherwise everyone is going to get a lot poorer a lot faster, for a lot longer, than the thirty years we are expecting if the USA cannot contain these forces.
We made industrial-technological civilization we must however share the burden of paying for it. It may have been white man’s burden to create, but it cannot be white man’s burden to maintain now that we’ve created it.
Americans can’t do it alone. We no longer have the population, economic, or institutional capacity to do so alone.
