(b) Starbucks is one of the best companies to work for, under the best conditions, with some of the best perks, for what are almost entirely unskilled workers.
(c) Starbucks obtained a new CEO to cut costs because starbucks is at risk because of overexpansion and general worldwide economic decline in consumer purchasing power.
(d) By using the union to demand fifty-cent increases instead of just rallying employees independent of the unions is what caused the company to object to it.
(e) union reform must limit to employee insurance against harms, but cannot consist of rents against potential future earnings, or blackmailing companies on present wages or those future rents. As we have just seen rapidly in germany’s decline in the auto industry and more slowly in the USA,due to outsourcing and offshoring, the future of any business is unpredictable. And the days where unions could take advantage of the illusion of the durability of companies and profits under the democratic party and political lefts false promise of endless growth are permanently over.
