Well, we know where the h. sapiens sapiens lineage evolved – with clarity – but we don’t know where the TRAITS evolved – and they appear to have done so early and across africa and eurasia. Worse, we know far too little once we have h. Habilis. It’s only logical that more novel traits would evolve out of africa than in, given that trait evolution and expression requires some degree of genetic isolation, and some environmental difference in which it’s an advantage.
