There is no such criteria in the definition of liberal. It means only that we are treated equally under the law in matters of the law. Liberalism had no pretense of equality. Only equality under the law. Disrespecting people is necessary for normative formation and preservation of high trust norms. When the Marxist and Feminists prohibited discrimination they opened the door to the suppression of discrimination on behavior. As such by the false promise of ending discrimination by race, they created the opportunity to suppress discrimination by behavior. That’s how the ‘march through the institutions of cultural production’ was used to destroy the high trust society and high trust norms.
