THINKING….
1. I would say yes there is an obvious consistent direction and no to your statement there isn’t – but it would depend upon what you mean. In other words yes it is possible to reverse direction and we have been reversing direction for a century.
2. I would agree that the variations on that evolutionary direction would provide a wide distributions of possibilities within that direction.
3. I would argue that understanding our current circumstance is rather easy, and the trend of history is rather simple – if you know the causes and limits. If you don’t then the world is chaotic. For those who do understand it, it’s the adaptability of man within that deterministic direction that’s surprising.
