I have more time. I retired in my 40s to work on research full time. Social media is one of my research tools. I have eliminated everything I can from my life that is other than my work wherever possible. I can do this because I was profoundly successful in life. It’s my reward for that success.
Be careful when judging others using yourself as the metric given that others may be very different, accomplished much more, and bought themselves time with that accomplishment, that you do not have. 😉
I do miss my Ferrari, but not my Porsches, and I do not miss maintaining multiple houses or living on planes in hotels and traveling to many countries, or sitting in offices conference rooms and board rooms listening to nitwittery spoken with conviction by people less moral than the average tradesman.
You never had those things to miss or not. So do not presume that I am doing anything other than what I wish to with the time I have, and using the ‘downtime’ on social media to clear my mind between work sessions.
I see it as a moral duty for men who have succeeded to sprinkle a bit of knowledge to the poor folks who have not and to help them no matter how little, in their journey.
